County Holding Free Flu-Shot Clinic for Franklin Township Seniors

FRANKLIN – The Somerset County Health Department will offer free flu shots to residents of Franklin Township , age 65 and older, on Thursday, Oct. 28, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.   Shots will be given at the Community Senior Center , located at 505 DeMott Lane in Somerset .

Eligible residents wishing to take advantage of this free flu-shot clinic are asked to bring proof of age, proof of address, their Medicare Part B card and to wear short-sleeved garments.

Free pneumonia shots also will be available to participants who qualify.

County Offering Flu Shots in Manville, Raritan, Somerville

MANVILLE / RARITAN / SOMERVILLE  -  The Somerset County Health Department will offer flu shots for adults, age 18 and older, in Manville, Raritan and Somerville boroughs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. as follows:

·         Manville:  Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the Manville VFW Hall, located at 600 Washington Ave.

·         Raritan:  Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the Raritan Borough Hall, located at 22 First St .

·         Somerville:  Wednesday, Oct. 27 at the Somerset County Human Services Building, located at 27 Warren St .  

The cost will be $25 for residents of Manville, Raritan and Somerville at their respective clinics and $35 for non-residents and participants, age 65 and older, who have Managed Care, HMO Medicare or who usually pay a co-pay at their doctor’s office.

Eligible participants, age 65 and older, who have Medicare Part B and who bring their Medicare card with them can receive the vaccination at no charge. 

Pneumonia shots also will be available at the Raritan and Somerville clinics.  Vaccinations will be free to people who qualify, when given along with the flu shot.

To make the process move quickly, participants are asked to wear short- sleeved garments.
