Public Input Sought for Needs Survey

Response Deadline is May 28

The Somerset County Community Development Office is seeking input from county residents through its Housing and Community Development Needs Survey.

“ Somerset County will receive approximately $11 million dollars over the next five years in federal housing and community development grants,” said Freeholder Patricia Walsh, community development liaison. “We are looking for an enthusiastic response from the public so that funds can be allocated according to our residents’ neighborhood and community needs.”

The survey asks questions regarding what issues have affected your ability to find affordable housing, what can be done to improve your employment situation, what programs would benefit your child that are not currently available and many more questions that impact housing and community development needs.

The survey will be used by a committee to create priorities that will determine how grant funds will be awarded.  All responses are anonymous and confidential and will only be included in combination with other responses for statistical purposes.

Residents may complete the survey online at www.co.somerset.nj.us/hservices/comdevelopment/index.html or can contact Tracey Rizk at (908) 541-5756 for a paper copy.  The deadline for the survey is May 28.
