Four Somerset County Senior Centers Open Wednesday |
The following four Somerset County senior centers, operated by the county Office on Aging and Disability Services , will open as warming shelters for people age 60 and above on Wednesday, Nov. 7. The centers will be open during their regular hours, about 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. No meals will be served on Wednesday, and there will be no transportation provided to the centers. Hillsborough Senior Center 339 South Branch Road , Hillsborough (908) 369-8700 Manville Senior Center at Fire Company #1 20 South Third Avenue , Manville (908) 526-0175 Montgomery Senior Center 356 Skillman Road , Skillman Raritan Senior Center 614 First Avenue , Raritan (908) 203-0001 On Thursday, Nov. 8, these four senior centers will be open and will serve meals. However, there will be no transportation provided. People wishing to have lunch should contact the center by 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, to make a reservation. Clients of Quail Brook Senior Center who wish to have lunch at the Manville Senior Center on Thursday are asked to call (732) 563-4213 to make a lunch reservation. A suggested lunch donation of $1.50 is recommended for individuals age 60 and above. The cost of lunch for those under age 60 is $5.35. Meals on Wheels delivery will be made on Wednesday and Thursday. Caregivers are asked to contact the Office on Aging and Disability Services at 1-888-747-1122 if Meals on Wheels recipients have been moved to another facility temporarily. The Senior Wellness Center in Bernards, the Quail Brook Senior Center in Franklin and the Warrenbrook Senior Center in Warren will remain closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
