RE: Sandy Recovery Survey Launched

Dear Mayor:

With the one-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy approaching, the Monmouth University Polling Institute has launched the Sandy Recovery Survey to track ongoing issues among New Jersey families who continue to be impacted by the storm. 

The survey focuses on families who were displaced from their homes for a month or longer. However, all residents who were significantly impacted by the storm are encouraged to participate.  The survey link can be found at www.monmouthpoll.org/Sandy

A key objective of the Sandy Recovery Survey is to determine whether impacted residents have access to the information and resources necessary for recovery.  The project will help stakeholders identify communication and resource gaps for residents, from Bergen County to Cape May , who are still trying to get their lives back on track.

Initial findings from the survey will be released to coincide with the October 29 anniversary of the storm hitting New Jersey .  The Polling Institute will continue to track these issues over the ensuing months.

Over the past month, the Polling Institute has been working with municipalities, long term recovery groups, and non-profit organizations to encourage their constituents to take this opportunity to provide feedback on ongoing concerns.
